Baguio visitors offered unique Camelot play at Burnham Park on Valentines Day

BAGUIO CITY, Jan. 29 — City Mayor Reinaldo Bautista Jr. Friday assured visitors here for the flower festival in February that they will witness a unique romantic play at the Burnham Lake on Valentines Day, dubbed as "Camelot fluvial parade."

During the "Ugnayan" weekly program of the "DZEQ Radyo ng Bayan Baguio", Bautista said that visitors to this mountain resort will find the whole month of February to be laden with entertaining features of the 15-year old "Panagbenga" festival.

"I take the romantic play at Burnham Park on February 14 as a very special feature of our city's flower festival because it also accentuates Baguio being the honeymooners paradise," he said.

The mayor is also inviting tourists to witness on Monday the grand opening of the flower festival which will preview "a bit of what they will see during the main events of streetdancing and float parade."

Traffic re-routing in the city has already been devised to let the festivities unhampered by passing vehicles with hundreds of guests and visitors expected to swarm here beginning next week.

Baguio in anticipation of the "Love Month" observance is now spruced with decorations predominantly hearts, especially in hotels and other tourism-oriented establishments.

Agricultural products, especially vegetables and flowers, have also started to be sold here in bulk in anticipation of the special days ahead. (PNA)
