MANILA, Feb. 5 — On February 5, 1921, the National Federation of Women's Clubs was organized primarily to advance the political rights of Filipino women.
It was later on developed into an organization of women leaders for national development.
Its first president was Rosario Delgado and among its prominent members were Pilar Hidalgo Lim, Josefa Lllanes Escoda, and Trinidad F. Legarda.
Also on this date in 1857, Aguedo Velarde, a delegate to the Malolos Congress and member of the first and third Philippine Legislature was born in Bulacan, Bulacan. He died on December 22, 1913. (PNA) scs/SDT/mec
