CITY OF MALOLOS, Bulacan, Feb. 8 — Another feather in the cap.

The provincial government of Bulacan has received Patnubay Award from the Council of Hotel and Restaurant Educators of the Philippines (COHREP) in recognition of its invaluable contributions, dedication, and commitment to the promotion and development of hospitality education in the province.

Through its Provincial Tourism Office (PTO), Bulacan was recognized for its efforts in implementing projects that enhance the knowledge and skills of tourism workers in the province and professionalize the local industry that makes its tourism products and services more competitive.

Dinia Quetua, provincial tourism officer, said it was the first time that the award for government was given to a group.

She said that Bulacan Tourism Office emerged in the group category because it continuously provided seminars on water safety and basic first aid for lifeguards, customer relations, Mabuhay host for hotel/resort front desk personnel, resort marketing and management, and culture of tourism.

Quetua also said that the province continued to help in the marketing and promotion of resorts/hotels and other tourism products and services by participating in travel marts, travel and tour expo and other caravans.

Governor Jonjon Mendoza was elated with the new award, saying for his more than two years in service, the provincial government had already received numerous awards.

Pero ito ay hindi ko nakuha ng mag-isa. Katuwang ko kayo sa pagkamit ng tagumpay para sa ating lalawigan (But I did not get all by myself. You (referring to the government employees) are my partners in obtaining success for our province), “ Mendoza said. (PNA)
