ILOILO CITY, Feb. 8 – The Diocese of Bacolod City is now in the thick of its preparations for the expected visit next week of Papal Nuncio in Negros Occidental.
The Bishop Palace in Bacolod City said Papal Nuncio to the Philippines Edward Joseph Adams will be arriving in Bacolod City this Feb. 18.
The Papal Nuncio will represent in behalf of Pope Benedict XVI for the blessing and inauguration of the seven-storey Pope John Paul tower constructed at the Reclamation area fronting the SM City in Bacolod City.
The tower was constructed in memory of Pope John Paul II during his visit in that city in the past several years.
As this developed, the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) has already made necessary security preparations to ensure the safety and security of the visiting Papal Nuncio.
S/Supt. Celestino Guara, Jr., director of BCPO, said security plans are now in place to secure the itinerary of the visiting prelate and his entourage starting from the Bacolod-Silay airport towards the memorial tower at the Reclamation area in Bacolod City via a motorcade. (PNA)
