Teodoro gets warm welcome in Zamboanga Sibugay sortie

IPIL, Zamboanga Sibugay, Feb. 24 — A mammoth crowd estimated at 10,000 persons attended the Lakas-Kampi-CMD standard-bearer Gilberto “Gibo” Teodoro Jr.’s sortie to the province of Zamboanga Sibugay Wednesday morning.

As early as 6 a.m., green-clad supporters of the former Defense chief started arriving at the provincial capitol located in Ipil Heights here.

Many of them were carrying placards and posters expressing their wholehearted support for Teodoro’s presidential bid in the May 10 elections.

Some of the signs read “Kay Gibo, Tiyak Ang Pag-ahon (With Gibo, development and change are assured) while other placards simply have the words “Gibo Is My Idol” scrawled all over.

The Lakas-Kampi-CMD standard-bearer, who is fast gaining support among the youth and other sectors, has the clearest platform of governance among the eight other presidential aspirants.

If elected to the presidency, Teodoro vowed to modernize the country’s education system, improve the Filipinos’ entrepreneurial skills, and create a comprehensive medical care system so that the marginalized sector can avail of quality medical services.

Aside from this, the 1989 Philippine Bar topnotcher also pledged to devote more resources to research and development (R&D) so that the country can get back to the technological roadmap, aside from devoting more resources to improve the communication and road facilities in rural areas.

Teodoro went to Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay for the province’s week-long ninth foundation anniversary from February 23 to 28.

The event was marked with cultural shows and job fairs designed to provide employment locally and abroad for interested individuals. (PNA)
