BACOLOD CITY, Feb. 27 – A total of 784 villagers from Negros Occidental and this city were inducted as members of the Barangay Peace Keeping Action Team (BPAT) that was launched at the Negros Occidental Multi-purpose Gym here on Friday morning.
Of the participants, 445 were from the province and 339 from Bacolod City, said Sr. Insp. Jose Laboyo, chief of Negros Occidental Provincial Police Office Community Relations Branch.
Lawyer Ferdinand Panes led the mass oath-taking and delivered a message in lieu of Department of Interior and Local Government Region 6 director Evelyn Trompeta.
NOPPO director Sr. Supt. Manuel Felix. Bacolod City police chief Celestino Guara and Sr. Supt. Melchor Fajardo, Police Regional Office 6 deputy director for operations, also graced the occasion.
Other guests at the BPAT launching included Board Member Renato Gustilo of the 1st district of Negros Occidental and Maredeth Joy Madayag, DILG provincial head.
