KATHMANDU, March 8 — Celebrating the 100th International Women's Day, a monologue revealing the connection between women in prison and the violence that often brings them there was observed in capital Kathmandu.

"The Vagina Monologue: Any one of us – Words from Prison," whose script is entirely foretold by women locked up behind the bars is staged on the Academy Hall on Sunday night.

"I was feeling the emotions of the women when I was directing the monologue," Eelum Dixit, the director of the monologue said in an exclusive interview with Xinhua on Monday.

"When the women are abused they don't realize and when they realize it is too late. We have to take it to the grassroot level, the school and college level and are aware every kind of women for not letting them to suffer like the women in the monologue," added Dixit.

"The main aim of organizing the event is to join hands for the campaign of ending any kind of violence against women, for creating awareness among the people and to make a collective force to end the violence," said the organizer of the event Arabindra Subedi.

He further expressed his belief that the monologue will certainly bring change in the people's conception.
