BUTUAN CITY, March 10 -– About 400 peace advocates are expected to attend a peace dialogue, dubbed as "Dialogue Mindanaw", in this Christian-dominated region (Caraga) in Mindanao on Thursday.
The peace dialogue is initiated by the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAPP) in partnership with the Caraga Conference For Peace and Development (CCPD).
The dialogue aims to provide a venue to discuss among various groups in the region issues and concerns that will contribute to the Mindanao peace process.
It also aims to generate interest in the peace agreement, promote a respectful way of listening, understanding and thinking together, educate the public on the key issues related to the peace agreement and engage all stakeholders to collaborate in helping the public be informed.
The dialogue will be held at the Social Hall of St. Peter College Seminary at Kilometer 6, Barangay Ampayon, in this region’s capital city.
Representatives from the Philippine Government, civilian and military, and Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) will be present in the event. (PNA)
