ILOILO CITY, May 24 – The Professional Regulations Commissions (PRC) continues to offer walk-in examinations for marine deck officers and marine engine officers, according to its regional director Lily Ann Baldago.
Baldago said four days a week have been allotted for walk-in exams; Tuesday and Wednesday for marine deck officers and Thursday and Friday for marine engine officers.
”We have overflowing number of applicants from marine deck officers but very few for marine engineer officers. I’d like to believe that maybe the marine engineer officers are not yet aware that we already have a specific schedule for them,” she said.
Baldago said that their operations started last year and hoped that more applicants would come to their office to avail of the privilege.
She also said that the applicants can bring their scanned documents to the PRC office where they will be assisted during the uploading process.
“The Commission has agreed that we will assist our applicants so that there will be minimal expense,” she said, adding that earlier, their clients encountered problems because they were charged high rates by the review centers during the uploading of documents. (PNA) RMA/PGLena
