SYDNEY, July 29 — More than 500 of the solar industry's leading lights will gather in Alice Springs next week for Australia's largest annual solar industry event.

The ATRAA 2010 Conference, run by the Clean Energy Council, will attract 550 delegates, to the Alice Springs Convention Center from Aug. 4-7.

Clean Energy Council Solar Accreditation Manager Rod Menzies said on Thursday it would be hard to find a more appropriate location for a solar industry conference than the "rolled gold sunshine" of Alice Springs.

The conference will include an address from Northern Territory Climate Change Minister Karl Hampton and Brian Elmer, the general manager of Alice Solar City. The prestigious Clean Energy Australia Industry Awards will be presented at the event. (PNA/Xinhua) ALM/utb
