ILOILO CITY, Sept. 6 – The month-long 110th Philippine Civil Service anniversary celebration in Western Visayas kicked off Monday with simultaneous flag-raising ceremonies and opening of exhibits by various local government units (LGUs) to showcase their exemplary public services to the people.
Atty. Erna Ilisan, Director II of the Civil Service Commission (CSC) Regional Office 6, said that there will also be the holding of the Government Civil Service exhibits on Sept. 14-16 at the Shoemart City-Iloilo.
There will be 29 government agencies that will participate to showcase their frontline services and for the public to be able to avail themselves of such services.
Civil Service Commission Chairman Fransisco T. Duque III will be the guest of honor during the recognition of the CSC awardees on Sept. 16, which will also be the closing for the Government Civil Service exhibits at the SM City.
Those to be recognized are the regional winners of the CSC's Lingkod Bayan, Pag-asa, and Dangal ng Bayan awards.
On Sept. 17, a "Hataw sa Galaw" will be held at the Jaro Covered Gym for government employees to be able to have a morning exercise and a healthy lifestyle.
The month-long anniversary celebration will be capped by the holding of the GRACES or the Government Responsive, Accessible, Courteous and Effective Public Service that will be attended by government office executives and their human resource and management officers at the Iloilo Grand Hotel.
CSC Commissioner Mary Ann Mendoza will be the guest of honor and there will be updating and reorientation of programs to be held. (PNA)
