MADRID, Sept. 6 — The Spanish city of Valencia this week hosts the 25th European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition (PVSEC).

The European event is being held in conjunction with the 5th World Conference on Photovoltaic Energy Conversion.

The PVSC, which is the most important international conference in the field of photovoltaics (solar energy), will be held between Monday and Friday in the city's exhibition center.

Meanwhile, the 5th World conference on Photovoltaic Energy Conversion unites the most important scientific and strategic conferences for the global photovoltaic (PV) sector.

These are the European Conference (PVSEC) as well as the 36th U.S. IEEE Photovoltaic Specialists Conference and the 20th Asia/Pacific PV Science and Engineering Conference.

The overall event will look at new trends in the industry and aims to be a center for information exchange and dialogue over a range of scientific and technical issues, covering all areas of the field from research and development down through the incorporation of PV in buildings and its practical use.

There will also be workshops, lectures, presentations and exhibitions.

Around 900 companies from all fields of the PV industry will attend along with 4,500 delegates, while the exhibition is expected to attract a total of around 40,000 visitors to the city. (PNA/Xinhua)
