JAKARTA, Oct. 28 — Tsunami that struck Kepulauan Mentawai of Indonesia's West Sumatra province on Monday night claimed more victims as at 7:15 local time (0015 GMT) on Thursday, official said that the fatalities had reached 311 lives, detikcom online news reported.
"We have fatalities of 311 while 378 are still missing," West Sumatra Governor Irwan Prayitno told the news provider.
He added that 264 people were injured seriously.
"We have 4,000 refugees in the areas of Pagai Selatan and Pagai Utara," he said, adding that aid is keeping flowing to the area and more aid predicted to come in as good weather supports ships accessible to Mentawai.
