ZAMBOANGA CITY, Aug. 31 - Vice-President Jejomar Binay will be the guest of honor in a week-long Regional Boy Scouts Jamboree that will be held from Sept. 23 to 29 in Ipil, the capital town of Zamboanga Sibugay province.
Zamboanga Sibugay Gov. Rommel Jalosjos said they are fastracking the preparations and development of the campsites the venue of the Jamboree.
Binay is the national president of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP).
The venue of the Regional Boy Scout Jamboree is Ipil's capitol hills, where three campsites namely Camps Alibutdan, Tambao and Jalosjos, are being developed, Jalosjos said.
He said all other needs like water, electricity to include comfort stations, are among the preparations they are undertaking.
The provincial government has already coordinated with Zamboanga Peninsula police director Chief Supt. Elpidio De Asis for augmentation of policemen to secure the Jamboree campsites during the week-long event.
He said thousands of boy scouts are expected to participate in the week-long Jamboree. (PNA)
