ILOILO CITY, Oct. 28 – A series of lecture forum and workshops will be conducted in this city on November 14-17 by launching Phase 2: Climate Reality as a follow-up of The Climate Project (TCP) of former United States Vice President Al Gore.
Sam Prudente, media coordinator of the Movement of Imaginals for Sustainable Societies through Initiatives, Organizing and Networking (Mission), said Iloilo leads in facilitating small group discussions and workshop activities of over 4,000 participants composed of academic leaders, student leaders and environment advocates from Iloilo City and the surrounding provinces.
The lecture and workshop will be led by Shiela Castillo-Tiangco, who was personally trained by Gore to speak about climate change in the Philippines.
Tiangco will discuss vital topics such as climate science, extreme weather events, data on climate change impacts, initiatives to counter climate change, and the social and practical perspectives.
Lectures will be conducted at the UPV Iloilo campus, JBLFMU Molo and an evening lecture with JCI Regatta on November 14; lectures at the IDC and UI-Phinma on November 15; Villa Igang in Guimaras, and SPUI on November 16; and at CPU Rose Memorial Hall on November 17. (PNA)
