ROSALES, Pangasinan, Dec. 1 – In line with the celebration of the International Day for Persons with Disabilities on December 3, the SM City Rosales will hold a photo exhibit entitled Photography with A Difference: Beyond Pixels, Beyond Borders.
Roselle Gale, PR officer of SM City Rosales, said the photo exhibit is an extension of the fun-filled activity the mall offered to the special children of the Stimulation Therapeutic Activity Center (STAC) Rosales at San Roque Dam on August 19 this year.
Momentous moments, genuine happiness, family bonding and simplicity of these children were captured by lensmen in that event and these will be showcased to let the public be involved in creating social equality of persons with disabilities.
Gale said the photo exhibit will be a catalyst of change in connecting the gap and eliminating the barriers to unite the people as the theme of the 2011 International Day for Persons with Disabilities is Together for Better World of all: Including persons with disabilities in development.
"Indeed, we are inviting you to witness and be part of this Special Day for the Disabled persons on December 3 10.a.m. at SM City Rosales Event Center. Let us all join our hands once more, and together let us embrace these special children to let them feel that they are part of the society and we are one of them," Gale said.
The United Nations declared International Day for disabled persons on December 3 in order to uphold equality of all, thus, promotes understanding of people with disability, she said.
This also aims to honor PWDs' dignity, rights and well-being by acknowledging their contributions, skills and achievements, giving them their privileges and benefits in every aspect of political, social, economic, and cultural life, Gale added. (PNA)
