CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga, Feb. 27 — A Roman Catholic leader here on Monday warned local government units (LGUs) and other stakeholders who continuously refuse to implement the Republic Act No. 9003 also known as the Solid Waste Management Act.
"We wish to inform those who violate the law that we are ready to create noise, especially to those who are destroying the environment, Bishop Ambo David said in his message read by Archie Reyes during the capitol employees flag ceremony Monday.
David pointed out that the issue of environmental protection and preservation became one of the most important challenges in political government.
As this developed, the local elected officials were urged to follow the provisions of the Republic Act No. 9003.
"How we wish that every town and every barangay would have their own material recovery facility," David said in his message.
The bishop likewise dared the local chief executives to strictly implement the RA No. 9003 by imposing the penalties embodied on it. (PNA)
