DAGUPAN CITY, March 29 – All local government units, households and establishments are being encouraged to observe Earth Hour on the night of March 31.
Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Officer Leduina Co asked all Pangasinenses to switch off their lights, air conditioners and all appliances consuming electricity for one hour from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. of March 31 in solidarity with the rest the people of the world.
She said the electricity that they will save by participating in Earth Hour will greatly help cushion the impact of climate change which has now affected various countries of the world, including the Philippines.
The observance of Earth Hour started in Sydney, Australia a few years ago and this has now become a yearly advocacy in many countries of the world, said Co.
She called on all Pangasinenses whereever they are to participate in the observance of Earth Hour because the electricity that they will save when pooled together will mean a lot to save Mother Earth from further destruction (PNA) LAP/lvm/lmmicua/rma
