MANILA, April 24 – Caloocan Mayor Enrico Echiverri hailed the 2,440 students who graduated from the University of Caloocan City (UCC) last April 19.
Echiverri graced the graduation ceremony of the UCC, which took place at the Folk Arts Theater in Pasay City. He personally congratulated the graduates and gave them a new challenge, which is to face an entirely new chapter in the lives.
The mayor touted the huge changes in the city’s education system, which has enabled graduates from local institutions like the UCC to match the aptitude of students from the country’s larger universities and colleges.
It can be recalled that a student from the UCC, Arch Pinili Sanchez, entered the top five of the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensure examinations last year.
Meanwhile, the mayor bared that the recent improvement of the local education system has resulted in additional courses at the UCC which students can take up.
The 2,440 graduates were composed of students from UCC’s five branches, namely: Sangandaan, Buena Park in University Hills Subdivision, Tandang Sora (7th Avenue), UCC Camarin, and Vocational Technology, also in Camarin.
This year, a student who took up Bachelor of Science (BS) Psychology, Calienta Yossel, graduated magna cum laude, while another 26 students graduated cum laude.
Most of the cum laude graduates belonged to the course Bachelor of Science (BS) Office Administration, while another three students were given special citations. (PNA)
