Mobile passporting set in San Pablo City Sept. 1

SAN PABLO CITY, Laguna, April 30 – In a bid to afford applicants easier access and hassle-free application for passports, the Regional Office of the Deopartment of Foreign Affairs (DFA) and the City government here will conduct mobile passporting at the One-Stop Processing Center in this city on Sept. 1.

City Administrator Loreto S. Amante said the DFA’s Regional Consular Office in Lucena City will be fielding a full compliment of personnel to process around 100 passports per hour, similar to the regular passport processing at the DFA Office in Manila for the issuance of an e-passport.

Amante reminded applicants that the basic requirements in applying for a passport are a birth certificate in security paper issued by the National Statistics Office, a valid identification card like a senior citizen’s ID, voter’s ID, digitalized government-issued ID, and driver’s license.

Applicants with foreign-sounding family names will be required to submit the marriage certificate of their parents. The applicants are also advised to dress appropriately for their photographs, he said.

The City Administrator said submission of application forms or pre-registration of applicants starts on May 2 and ends July 31, 2012 to enable city residents and those from adjoining towns wanting to avail of the passporting service. (PNA) RMA/CTB
