ROSALES, Pangasinan, May 25 — Three famous designers from Pangasinan will be honored for their noteworthy contribution in fashion trends in the Philippines during a Grand Santacruzan at SM City Rosales starting at 2:30 p.m. on May 27.
The three are Billy Tamagos of Dagupan City, a foremost traditional Filipiniana dress designer; Rian Fernandez of Alcala, a Binibining Pilipinas and Miss Earth Gown designer; and Glenn Gonzales of Villasis, finalists in the Project Runway Philippines.
The three will showcase their designed Filipiniana gowns in their different fields of expertise –- in the traditional, eclectic, and futuristic designs.
Rose Gale, SM City Rosales public relations officer, said all these Filipiniana gowns will be presented during the Sagala or Santacruzan procession.
Gale said Santacruzan or Flores de Mayo is the Philippines' Queens of all festivals which became part of Filipino tradition.
Fitting the three trends of Filipinana gowns during the Sagala are Pangasinan Beauty queens from San Carlos City, Dagupan City, Urdaneta City, Laoac, Manaoag, San Jacinto, Mangaldan, University of Pangasinan, University of Luzon, and Colegio de Dagupan, together with the Bangus Festival Queen and the Limgas na Pangasinan 2012.
At the same time on Sunday, the Tatlong Anyo ng Filipinana exhibit featuring designed gowns will also be displayed at The Event Center of SM City Rosales.
Also, kids from Feliz Academy and elderly from Senior Citizens Federation of Villasis town will be joining the Sagala for the Seniorcruzan and Kiddiecruzan, respectively. (PNA) scs/LOR/Lvm/lmmicua/rma
