DAVAO CITY, July 3 — The Anflocor Group of Companies (ANFLOCOR) has announced the passing of its Chairman of the Board, Don Antonio O. Floirendo Sr. who passed away on June 29, 2012.
President and CEO Alexander N. Valoria in a statement said "It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our Chairman of the Board, Don Antonio O. Floirendo Sr., who passed away Friday evening. He was 96.
The patriarch of the ANFLOCOR Group of Companies was known to be the Philippines banana magnate who led the pioneers who transformed a vast swampland in Davao del Norte into a banana plantation which, along with his other ventures in agro-industrial and real estate business, continues to help boost the economic growth of the region and uplift the lives of thousands of people.
His legacy will forever remain in the hearts and consciousness of his family, the entire ANFLOCOR Group of Companies and those who know and love him.
The remains of Don Antonio O. Floirendo Sr. will arrive in Davao from Manila on Monday, July 2, in the afternoon and will lie in state in San Antonio de Padua Chaplaincy in Tagum Agricultural Development Company (TADECO).
Interment will be on Friday morning, July 6 in Marapangi, Toril, this city. (PNA) dct/DDB/ldp/utb
