The event scheduled to start at 9 p.m. was delayed for about 30 minutes due to heavy rainfall accompanied by strong winds.

The bad weather did not stop a big crowd from joining Muhyiddin who was accompanied by his wife Puan Sri Abdul Rahman Noorrainee.

The parade involved 15 floats representing government agencies and statutory bodies and two entries from overseas, namely China and Kenya.

Also present were Tourism Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ng Yen Yen, Putrajaya Corporation president Tan Sri Samsudin Osman and first secretary of the Cultural Office of the Chinese Embassy in Malaysia, Gao Wei.
