ILAGAN, Isabela, July 27 - Governor Faustino G. Dy III said Thursday the environmental compliance certificate (ECC) for the Ilagan-Divilacan road project has been released by the Environment Management Bureau (EMB).
Dy made the announcement at the municipal hall of this town during Thursday's official kick off campaign for the plebiscite for the cityhood of Ilagan.
The ECC for the Ilagan-Divilacan road is one of the requirements in the opening of road going to the coastal towns of Isabela.
The four coastal towns at the eastern portion of Isabela are Maconacon, Divilacan, Palanan and Dinapigue which are considered isolated from the mainland province due to the absence of road network.
Dy said a road to the coastal towns is necessary in order that Isabelinos living in the area will have access to the many programs and projects of the provincial government.
This will also give opportunity to attract eco-tourism investors as the place has good beach resorts.
The four coastal towns at present can only be reached by air and sea transportation.
Dy is confident that the road project will commence at the soonest possible time. (PNA) LAP/scd/MEdale/mba/mec
