BEIRUT, July 28 — Visiting Swiss Foreign Minister Didier Burkhalter asserted Friday his country's support for the stability of Lebanon and avoiding the spillover of Syrian crisis into Lebanon, local National News Agency reported.
Burkhalter hailed the efforts exerted by Lebanese President Michel Suleiman and the Lebanese government to avoid the spillover of Syrian unrest into Lebanon, said the report.
The two leaders also skimmed through the bilateral relations between the two countries.
Earlier, Burkhalter stressed "the importance of reaching a political solution for the crisis in Syria", asserting it is "the only way to avoid further bloodshed." (PNA/Xinhua) CTB/rsm
