OSUN, Nigeria, Dec. 28 — Nine people were killed and 11 others injured when a bus collided with a truck in southwestern Nigeria Thursday, said local sources.
The accident took place on a road in the State of Osun at about 1:30 p.m. local time. The dead included six women.
A preliminary investigation showed that the accident was caused by speeding. No other information was available.
The poor conditions of roads, speeding, over loading and reckless driving are blamed for frequent traffic accidents in the west African country. (PNA/Xinhua)
