Presidium of top advisory body meet to prepare for annual session

BEIJING, Dec. 28 — The presidium of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), China's top political advisory body, met on Friday to prepare for coming sessions.

It was decided at the meeting that the 20th meeting of the 11th CPPCC National Committee will be held between Jan. 29 and Feb. 1 next year to prepare for the first annual session of the 12th CPPCC National Committee.

It was suggested at Friday's meeting that the first annual session of the 12th CPPCC National Committee will open on March 3, 2013.

Friday's meeting also adopted the draft decision on convening the first annual session of the 12th CPPCC National Committee, draft agenda and date of the 20th meeting of the 11th CPPCC National Committee, and a draft report on proposals by the 11th CPPCC Standing Committee.

The meeting also reviewed documents such as a summary of the CPPCC National Committee's communication and exchanges with foreign countries and organizations and decided to submit these documents to the 20th meeting of the 11th CPPCC National Committee.

The presidium meeting was presided over by Jia Qinglin, chairman of the CPPCC National Committee.

Jia called on political advisors to carefully study, promote and implement the spirit of the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, reduce bureaucratism and maintain close ties with the public. (PNA/Xinhua)
