SEOUL, April 29 — The office of President Park Geun-hye said Monday it opened an account with KakaoStory, a Facebook-like social networking service, in an effort to connect more with the public.
KakaoStory is similar to Facebook, but works only on smart phones via KakaoTalk messenger.
The first posting was a photo of one of two dogs that Park brought in to the presidential house after neighbors gave them to her as present when she left her private home in Seoul in February.
Next to the photo was a question asking which one of the two dogs it was. Also included was the phrase, "GENTLE DOG," a play on words of the poster of South Korean pop sensation Psy's latest song "Gentleman."
About 34,000 people have already asked to subscribe the KakaoStory account, the office said. It also said the top office will try to improve communication with the people by diversifying SNS channels.(PNA/Yonhap)
