5.3-magnitude quake hits southwest of Sumatra, Indonesia — USGS

HONG KONG, MAY 31 — An earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale jolted southwest of Sumatra, Indonesia at 18:37: 00 GMT on Thursday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 20.00 km, was initially determined to be at 3.9358 degrees south latitude and 99.5290 degrees east longitude. (PNA/Xinhua)
