Deputy House speaker Padilla assures Novo Vizcayanos of equal service

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, July 30 — Despite of being chosen as one of the six deputy house speakers in the House of Representatives, Rep. Carlos Padilla assured his provincemates of unwavering service and visibility to fulfill his commitment to this province.

“Rest assured that in spite of my being a deputy house speaker, I will not be remiss and overlook my responsibilities as your elected representative of Nueva Vizcaya," he said in a statement.

Padilla, who unanimously earned the respect and recognition of the political parties in the House of Representatives, also attributed his position as deputy speaker to Novo Vizcayano voters.

“I owe everything to our voters who placed me in this position in Congress,” he added.

Padilla is one of the three representatives from Cagayan Valley who was chosen as deputy speakers, the first time that Cagayan Valley region got the three much-coveted positions in Congress.

The other deputy speakers are Reps. Giorgidi Aggabaao of Isabela province’s 4th district, Gina Abad of Batanes, Roberto Puno of Southern Tagalong, Sergio Apostol of Visayas and Ali Pamindong of Lanao del Sur.

Padilla’ previous appointments in the House of Representatives also include deputy speaker during the 11th Congress, minority floor leader and chairman on committee on appointments. (PNA)
