Urgent: 7.0-magnitude quake hits Aleutian Islands — Hong Kong Observatory

HONGKONG, Aug. 31 — An earthquake measuring 7.0 on the Richter scale jolted waters near Andrean of Island, Aleutian Islands at 00:25 a.m. Hong Kong time Saturday, the Hong Kong Observatory said.

The epicenter was initially determined to be at 51.5 degrees north latitude and 175.3 degrees west longtitude. (PNA/Xinhua)
