LINGAYEN, Pangasinan, Sept. 2 — Elected last August 19 as the President of the Philippine Councilors League (PCL) Pangasinan chapter, Sheila Marie Perez formally took her seat as ex-officio Board Member of Pangasinan during the 6th regular session of the 8th Sangguniang Panlalawigan on September 3, 2013.
"I cannot explain my happiness," said the San Manuel town councilor who bested colleagues — Councilors Ramon Bataoi of Lingaten and Rosalie Ellasus of San Jacinto in the recent PCL election.
Perez also expressed her gratitude to the Board for welcoming her as well as to the support of the people even as she asked for their cooperation."
It's a privilege to serve the people of this province. It's a privilege to work with the people of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan. I really thank God for this wonderful opportunity," said Perez.
In a previous interview, Board Member Perez- who succeeded her brother Salvador Perez Jr. as PCL President- assured to give priority on passing resolutions to tackle women's issues and "to work for progress."
Perez likewise said, " I will serve as the voice of all councilors". (PNA)
