CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga, Jan. 31 — The city government has lined up various activities for its cityhood charter anniversary set on February 1 to 14.
Anchored on the theme "Fernandino ing mumuna, Fernandino ing manimuna," the event dubbed Kaganapan 2014 will mark the city charter's 13th anniversary and will highlight the bid on achieving every Fernandino's goal.
Mayor Edwin Santiago said the city government is serious in its efforts to improve lives of its citizens.
It is our desire to make San Fernando a world-class city where progress is not only evident in its economic dynamism and competitiveness but also in formation of its citizenry as a resilient, moral, loving and God-fearing Fernandinos, he said.
He said to ensure continuity and enhancement of previous activities and projects of the Kaganapan celebrations, the city government organized an executive committee led by its chairperson Ceferino Pamintuan.
Among the events lined up are citywide clean-up (Feb. 1), groundbreaking for the trading post (Feb. 5), livelihood day (Feb. 7), 'Pet Mo Show Ko' (Feb. 8), multi-sectoral assembly and launching of the new city government website (Feb. 9), launching of MEDSA milestone projects (Feb. 10), medical mission (Feb. 12), agri-fisheries and organic trade fair and zumba explosion (Feb. 13) as well as 'Kasalan king Balen, 'Harana sa Kababaihan,' opening of Kapampangan art exhibit, giant lantern exhibition and Kaganapan Valentine Concert (Feb. 14), cycling caravan and launching of food revolution San Fernando (Feb. 15), welcome reception for Honolulu City officials (Feb. 16) and medical/dental mission (Feb. 23).
