MANILA, Feb. 24 The Philippine National Police (PNP)-Chaplain Service on Monday hailed Cotabato Archbishop Orlando Cardinal Quevedo for his designation as Cardinal during formal ceremonies in the Vatican over the weekend.
The PNP-Chaplain Service, headed by Supt. Rev. Father Lucio Rosaroso, held a Thanksgiving Mass at the St. Joseph Chapel in Camp Crame on Monday to welcome the elevation of Cardinal Quevedo.
Father Rosaroso, who is the base chaplain of Camp Crame, expressed the entire PNP-Chaplain Services elation for the appointment of Cardinal Quevedo.
May this serve as inspiration to all Filipinos, especially the Catholics, he said.
At the same time, Father Rosaroso called on all policemen and parishioners of St. Joseph Chapel to renew their faith by doing what is expected of a Catholic devotee.
Pope Francis led the elevation of Quevedo, along with 15 other cardinals from various parts of the world, to the College of Cardinals in Vatican City last Saturday.
Cardinal Quevedo becomes the eighth Filipino Cardinal. Other Filipino Cardinals are Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Tagle, Rufino Santos, Julio Rosales, Jaime Sin, Ricardo Vidal, Jose Sanchez and Gaudencio Rosales. (PNA)
