HANOI, Mar 25 –Ambassadors of the 2014 Earth Hour campaign yesterday joined some 1,000 students from Ha Noi University at an exchange program to raise awareness for the cause.
Danish Ambassador John Nielsen, who is also an ambassador for the campaign, said he hopes young people will act more responsibly to protect the earth, starting with changes in their own daily lives.
Within the program, participants took part in activities to promote the drive, including cycling around Hanoi's streets and organizing trivia contests on saving energy.
Hanoi is planning a range of activities for the campaign. As part of its efforts, decorative lighting and neon advertising boards will be turned off from 8:30 p.m.-9:30p.m. on March 29 at Hanoi's major landmark venues. (PNA/VNS)
