MANILA, March 27 (PNA) — Operatives from the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) arrested Andrea Rosal, a ranking leader of the New People’s Army in Southern Tagalog Region, Thursday morning.

This took place around 7 a.m., AFP public affairs office chief Lt. Col. Ramon Zagala said.

Also known as "Naiya" or "Liam", Andrea was arrested by virtue of warrants of arrest for kidnapping and murder issued in Mauban, Quezon.

She was also implicated in a criminal case for attempted homicide filed in Luisiana-Cavinti in Laguna.

She was arrested in Barangay 169, Caloocan City along with her security escort identified by the name of Che, as well as Barangay chairman Ruben Gatchalian who owns the house where they were staying.

Andrea Rosal is the daughter of the late NPA spokesperson Gregorio Rosal, also known as "Ka Roger", who died in 2011.

Extensive attention was given by her arresting officers as Andrea is pregnant and due for delivery within this month. (PNA)
