MANILA, March 27 — Reigning Miss Universe Gabriela Isler arrived Thursday at 10:49 a.m. via a private jet at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport to attend a series of engagements on her five-day visit to the Philippines.
Prior to her arrival, there has been a long delay in the departure ofher flight from the United States. According to the advisory of NAIA, Isler is set to arrive by 4:00 a.m. today but due to the flight setback, it took them an additional seven hours before the plane landed in Manila.
Isler is accompanied by Miss Universe Organization president Paula Shugart on the activities awaiting the reigning beauty queen.
One of the engagements is a courtesy call to President Benigno Aquino III in Malacanang Friday.
On March 29, Isler will extend help in the relief and rehabilitation efforts in the Visayas through the Miss Universe Fund which the organization has established in performing their charitable works.
Afterwards, she will hold the turnover of sashes to former Miss Universe winners, Gloria Diaz and Margie Moran during a welcome dinner.
She will also serve as one of the judges in the Binibining Pilipinas grand coronation on March 30 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
On her fourth day, March 31, Isler will be conducting Operation Smile with the newly crowned winners of Bb. Pilipinas.
She will leave Manila on April 1. (PNA)
