MANILA, March 27 — Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Governor Amando Tetangco Jr. has been appointed as Chairman of the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) Asian Consultative Council (ACC).
In a statement, BIR said Tetangco was appointed by its Board of Directors to succeed Choongsoo Kim , the government of Bank of Korea.
Tetangco will serve a two-year term that will start April 1, 2014.
ACC groups governors of BIS-member countries from the Asia Pacific region.
It serves as the venue where the central bank officials and the BIS Board and Management communicates issues on central banking.
BIS said ACC also provides guidance for the research and banking activities of the BIS Representative Office for Asia and the Pacific in Hong Kong SAR. (PNA)
