LINGAYEN, Pangasinan, April 28 — One of the new archbishops anointed by Pope Francis is a native of Pangasinan.
He is Archbishop Marlo Peralta, who hails from San Carlos City, Pangasinan, and appointed by the Pope as the new archbishop of Nueva Segovia, Ilocos Sur.
In its regular session on April 28, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) passed provincial resolution no. 533-2014 congratulating Archbishop Peralta for "serving as a symbol of hope and inspiration among Pangasinenses."
The resolution authored by all board members stated that the appointment of Peralta brings honor and prestige not only to his family but the whole province as well.
"Archbishop Peralta will bring to the entire province of a Pangasinan a missionary and full stewardship of the catholic community and will definitely be a good shepherd to his flock," the resolution, added. (PNA)
