MANILA, April 29 — A magnitude-3.6 earthquake jolted the province of Occidental Mindoro on Tuesday, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
In its bulletin, the agency said the tremor occurred at 7:39 a.m. with its epicenter traced 13 kilometers southeast of Sablayan town in Occidental Mindoro.
Intensity 3, on the other hand, was recorded in Puerto Galera.
Phivolcs described an Intensity 3 earthquake as weak, but it is felt by many people indoors, especially those in upper floors of buildings.
It further noted that a vibration like the passing of a light truck would be felt, while water containers oscillate and hanging objects swing moderately.
Phivolcs said the temblor, which was tectonic in origin, had a shallow depth of 15 kilometers.
Despite of the felt intensity, the agency noted that there was no casualty or damage reported from the quake.
Phivolcs further noted that aftershocks were not expected as well. (PNA)
