Coronation night for Ms. QC Diamond Jubilee set on Sept. 13

By Leilani S. Junio

MANILA, Aug. 22 (PNA) — The coronation night for the Miss Quezon City Diamond Jubilee is set at 7 p.m. on Sept. 13 at the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Theater in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City.

This was disclosed on Friday by beauty queen, official spokesperson and pageant consultant Stephanie Stefanowitz in an interview with the Philippines News Agency.

“Twenty-five lovely and intelligent candidates who are residents of QC are competing for the title,” she said.

According to her, the number of official candidates was trimmed down from 60 through an elimination round conducted last Aug. 9.

“These 25 lovely candidates are being 'polished' now as 'diamonds' so that they can be aptly called 'Diamonds in the Ramp',” said the former beauty queen who won the title of Miss Earth-Air International 2012 and Miss Philippines Earth 2012.

Stefanowitz explained that part of the "polishing" for the lovely candidates includes training them on personality development like proper walking, posture in walking and sitting and even in speaking.

“We want to be sure that the one who will wear the crown and will be remembered as the only 75th Jubilee Queen in the city’s history will also epitomize the convergence of beauty, talent and passion for social involvement and as an Ambassadress of Goodwill for the city’s ideals and development thrusts,” she said.

She added that candidates who would not make it can use the personality development trainings and the wonderful experience in joining the pageant where they have shown not only their beauty but also their brain and talent.

The 25 candidates are: Donalynn Purisima (representing Barangay Old Balara), Ceres Dianne De Leon (Kaligayahan, Novaliches), Jackie Lou Pineda (Sangandaan, Novaliches), Josephine Kayas (Talipapa, Novaliches), Maan Marie Ariarte (Sikatuna Village), Gilma Gallero (Old Balara), Keena Puzon (Corinthian Gardens), Marica Delavin (Barangay Central), Shecill Bagaporo (Roxas District);

Eimar Stewart (Lagro, Novaliches), Mary Claire Medina (Commonwealth), Thrizzia Alen Sibayan (Diliman), Grace Ann Bautista (Project 3), Patrixia Sherly Santos (Sikatuna Village), Merrie Joy Montalbo (Barangay Masambong), Renee Soraya Hassani (Cubao), Joanna Cielo Claravall (San Francisco Del Monte), Lea Rivera (Novaliches Proper), Yvette Marie Velasco (Loyola Grand Villas), Roana Ray Addie Jose (La Vista), Kristina Nicole Biles (Barangay Kristong Hari), Ma. Christina Jade Bernardo (Diliman);

Raysheil Manalo (Project 8), Fiona Margarita Aytona (Napocor Village, Tandang Sora), and Ma. Celina Granda (Project 6).

The candidates are either students or young professionals who have all passed the screening standards for the contest.

The four major awards that they will be competing for are Ms. QC Diamond Jubilee; 1st runner-up; 2nd runner-up, and 3rd runner-up.

Other special awards that will be given to lucky candidates are Ms. Photogenic, Ms. Congeniality, Best in Swimsuit, and Ms. Social Media.

Former QC Vice Mayor Connie Angeles, the first-ever to win the Miss QC title, will be one among the judges for the forthcoming coronation night, according to Lito Pagayon, creative consultant from VPF Creative Productions which is handling the pageant. (PNA)
