TAGUM CITY, Davao del Norte, Nov. 25 - The Davao del Norte provincial government launched on Monday the 2nd Pasko Fiesta sa Kapitolyo at the Davao del Norte Sports Complex (DDNSC) in partnership with the Tourism Council in this province.
The Pasko Fiesta sa Kapitolyo is an annual celebration of the provinces arts and culture and culinary fests held during Yuletide season. This years celebration has an allocation of P1 million that includes the purchase of the sound system.
Last year, it was just a weekly celebration; for this year, we will have it every weekend night from November 21 to December 20, said Noel Daquioag, provincial tourism officer.
He bared that the celebration will be highlighted by different performing arts from night to dawn every Friday and Saturday, visual exhibit featuring the provinces tourism destinations by the Camera Club of Tagum, and stalls selling food, beverages and Christmas items. The activities started last November 21.
There will also be gift items to be raffled every night, he revealed.
Daquioag also said that the tourism council will pilot test the use of cash vouchers within the Pasko Fiesta area.
This will be the first event by the provincial government and the tourism council that we will utilize only cash vouchers to buy any item in all the booths with the area, he said.
He emphasized that there will be pre-selling of tickets for buffet worth P199.00 while a booth is placed within the venue to exchange cash to vouchers amounting to P-5, P-10 and P-15.
"If ever the use of cash vouchers will turn out to be successful, we will perhaps replicate in any bazaar activities in the sports complex, he said. (PNA)
