CATBALOGAN CITY, Nov. 25 (PNA) — The provincial government of Samar officially welcomed the Yuletide season through a lighting ceremony, which takes the public into a tour themed Christmas Around the World.
Samar Governor Sharee Ann Tan led on Monday the lighting of the various Christmas lights and decorations located around the Imelda Park, fronting the Samar Provincial Capitol.
According to the lady governor, this years Christmas decorations took inspiration from the various famed landmarks all around the world such as the Eiffel Tower in Paris, Petronas Towers in Malaysia, Pyramid of Egypt, Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty, London Bridge, Ankor Wat in Cambodia, Churches of Russia and many others.
Various government agencies and schools joined in this years Christmas Lights and Decorations being hosted by the provincial government.
The whole Imelda Park literally lit up with sparkling Christmas lights and lanterns.
Tan said that hosting such an event was costly, however, the happiness brought upon to people in this merry season was invaluable.
The Christmas Lighting project, done yearly by the provincial government of Samar, aims to enhance the spirit of Christmas and provide a cheerful place where the family could bond and enjoy the season.
A Christmas bazaar was also opened at the adjacent provincial covered court, where people can enjoy great finds for gifts and souvenirs as well as enjoy the food native to the island of Samar while enjoying good music provided by the band.
The Christmas lighting project and bazaar will be open until January 2015. (PNA)
