CABAGAN, Isabela, Jan. 14 — Cabagan town is featuring its famous Pansit Cabagan festival or the Pansi Festival in its patronal town fiesta from January 16 to 25, 2015.
Department of Tourism (DOT) region 2 OIC regional director Josefa Mallabo, said Wednesday that the town's foundation on January 25 is lined-up with week-long activities to instill to the hearts and minds of every Cabaguenos the gratitude to Almighty God for the blessing, safety and prosperity they have been receiving.
The Cabagan square park, flanked by the municipal town hall, and the St. Paul and apostle Parish Church, will be the site of the events lined-up for the celebration of the Cabagan patronal town fiesta, Mallabo added.
For his part, Vice Mayor Christopher Mamauag said the "celebration will highlight most the ubiquitous Pansi' festival (Pancit Cabagan) in recognition of the noodle industry which has forever etched its mark in the history and culture of Cabagan town and its people."
Mamauag is also inviting other visitors from different parts of the country to witness the festival and take part in the town's thanksgiving festival.
Part of the week-long activities are Kalesa, Kutseru, Kabayu (KKK) festival, inter-barangay Kalesa painting contest, sports competitions, senior citizens- balikbayan-OFW night, beauty pageant, street dancing and among others. (PNA)
