ZAMBOANGA CITY, Feb. 24 — Spanish Ambassador to the Philippines Luis Antonio Calvo will keynote the Dia de la Ciudad de Zamboanga celebration on Thursday.
Mayor Ma. Isabelle Climaco-Salazar said the Spanish envoy has confirmed attendance to the occasion.
The Dia de la Ciudad de Zamboanga celebration marks the day when the first set of city government officials headed by Mayor Nicasio Valderoza was installed into office in 1935.
The city government has lined up several activities to commemorate the Charter Day Anniversary, the main highlight of which is the grand civic-military parade from Mayor Ledesma Street to Paseo del Mar.
Meanwhile, Salazar said Paul Mason of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) will be the citys guest during the Awards Night for the Zamboanga Film Festival and Local Achievers set on Wednesday, February 25.
