Presidential adviser Neric Acosta is Foundation University’s convocation speaker

DUMAGUETE CITY, Feb. 24 — Juan Romeo Nereus “Neric” Acosta, Presidential Adviser for Environmental Protection and general manager of the Laguna Lake Development Authority, will be the guest speaker during a convocation at Foundation University in Dumaguete City on Friday.

Acosta will be speaking on “Environmental Imperatives on Climate Change for Present Environmental Initiatives”, said Girlie Bernardez, FU consultant on university advancement.

He will also be meeting with local media at a press conference on the same day.

Meanwhile, Foundation University is holding its Digital Exposition 2015 at the Robinsons Mall Main Atrium.

The activity will showcase innovative technology of the digital age as part of the university’s campaign to encourage students at all levels to learn useful technological skills to enable them to be competitive in the Information Technology driven world.

The exposition will also serve as an opportunity to encourage students to expand their interests to learn and increase awareness on new developments in technology.

The different colleges of the university will be putting up booths to showcase the different skills they have learned in each of their fields of expertise.

Part of the expo is a film showing at the Robinsons Cinema on Tuesday and Wednesday with high school seniors from different public and private schools in Negros Oriental.

A quiz bowl will also be held at the Main Atrium as well as different fun and games sponsored by the students of the different colleges.

To top this year’s Expo is the donation of radio handsets to the Dumaguete City Police Department, which will be included in the closing ceremony Wednesday afternoon.

Dr. Mira D. Sinco, School President, to be assisted by Victor Vicente G. Sinco, Vice President for Finance and Dr. Eva C. Melon, Vice President for Administration will turn over the equipments to Engr. Bill Peralta of the National Telecommunications Commission Region 7 and Supt. James Goforth, Dumaguete City police chief. (PNA)
