BUTUAN CITY, March 25 — The Professional Criminologists Association of the Philippines (PCAP) recently awarded Caraga PNP chief PCSupt. David Y. Ombao with an "Outstanding Criminologist Award," in recognition for his remarkable, transformative accomplishments as director of the regional police here.
PCAP through its national president Dr. Gerry J. Cano handed the award to CSupt. Ombao himself during the regional camp Monday flag-raising rites, where Cano was the guest of honor and speaker.
Cited as the basis for the award were the accomplishments of Ombao which lead to the PNPs revitalized trust and confidence of the people and the community the police serves. The award also mentioned the director's sterling dedication which is the epitome of the official's commitment to a selfless public service where he considered it his paramount duty to serve others.
Cano, in his message for the occasion pointed out that "the changes (for the better) of the police organization, changes in the homes or in the workplaces should be initiated with one single step." He also emphasized that a police personnel should believe and do something radiating transformation obviously for others to see.
CSupt. Ombao for his part extended his sincere gratitude to the PCAP family for such recognition of his accomplishments. (PNA)
