ILOILO CITY, May 19 — Councilor Nielex C. Tupas here was accepted as Fellow of the Harvard Kennedy School of Government executive education program and will leave for Harvard by the end of May.
Tupas had asked for a leave of absence from his duty at the Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) here for a two-week short term course in Harvard as his longtime dream to enter the prestigious school on government education program.
Tupas is the first city councilor to be accepted in Harvard and is the number one elected city councilor in this highly urbanized city. Having a doctorate degree, Tupas is an educator, legislator, advocate and family man married to Dr. Candice Alumisin Tupas.
The city councilor is expected to bring his Harvard experience to the city council and lead a professional government program to benefit the city populace. (PNA)
