SAN JOSE, Antique, Sept. 28 — To equip its municipal social welfare and development officers as well as the day care workers, Antique province will conduct an Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) workshop in San Jose on Sept. 29-30.
The workshop will be conducted by the ECCD Council.
Lazaro G. Petinglay, Antique Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer, said that the workshop is intended for the participants to understand the salient features of Early Years Law and to systematically shift the day care centers to child development centers.
One of the workshop's speaker is Dr. Teresita G. Enciong of the ECCD Council who will speak on the “Quality ECCD Program: The Way Forward” and standardization or licensing of the day care centers both of the government and private.
This will help participants to internalize the programs in the Pre-Kindergarten and ECCD Curriculum.
Dr. Yolanda S. Quijano, Consultant on Education, will also facilitate the discussions relative to these topics.
Presently, Antique has two ECCD schools finance by the ECCD council in partnership with the local government units.
The province has 664 day care workers with 641 day care centers. (PNA)
