Air quality improving nationwide

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct. 29 — The air quality nationwide as at 9 a.m. Thursday is generally improving.

According to the Department of Environment's (DOE) portal, the Air Pollutant Index (API) readings recorded healthy air in 43 areas and nine areas with moderate API.

The nine areas are Port Klang (62); Bakar Arang, Sungai Petani (59); Pasir Gudang (56); Kota Kinabalu (55); Seberang Jaya 2, Perai and Universiti Sains Malaysia (53); Shah Alam (52) and Bukit Rambai (51).

An API reading of 0 to 50 indicates good air quality; 51 to 100, moderate; 101 to 200, unhealthy; 201 to 300, very unhealthy and 300 and above, hazardous. (PNA/Bernama)
